Nashville, Tenn. (September 4, 2014) — For GRAMMY® nominees and American Music Award winners MercyMe, things just keep getting “Greater,” the second single from the 6.5 million+ selling band’s latest project, Welcome to the New. Peaking at No. 1 on both iTunes Christian sales and SoundScan chart as well as hitting the Top 5 on Christian radio, “Greater” has also garnered 100% of the Billboard Christian AC radio panel spinning the song.

Additionally, MercyMe’s multi-format smash, “I Can Only Imagine,” is closely approaching a Double Platinum Certification by the RIAA. The popular song made history as the first single in the Christian genre to receive RIAA Platinum Certification.

This past April, Welcome to the New, which has been called the band’s “best effort to date” and “a party from top to bottom,” nabbed the highest debut of the week landing at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart. The album peaked at No. 3 on the iTunes® Overall Albums Chart and No. 1 on its Christian Albums Chart.

MercyMe has been playing festivals and ball park faith nights throughout the summer and will hit select U.S. cities this fall, continuing to support Welcome to the New with an eclectic and entertaining live show that has received raves reviews across the country.
